Westland was founded in 1920 by Ernst zur Nedden in Bredenscheid near Hattingen / Ruhr in Westphalia. Despite strong internationalization with 14 production sites in 10 countries, Westland has remained a medium-sized family business to this day.

Georg zur Nedden is the third generation to manage the company, which is now headquartered in Melle-Westerhausen. “The Melle site offers an optimal infrastructure as well as links to various universities, with which we cooperate closely and from which we recruit our specialists,” explains the owner.

The Westland Group employs around 800 people worldwide, 300 of them in Melle alone. There, in the large factory on Westlandstrasse, the heart of production, the mixing plant, still beats, while at other locations it is mainly “processing”, says zur Nedden. Engineers and materials technicians develop special rubber formulations for customers and applications worldwide.

Westland is a leading supplier of technically sophisticated elastomer components, both as coated rollers and molded elastomer parts. The following industries are supplied:
